Albumen Printmaking is a 19th-century photographic process, one of the first modes of commercial mass printing of photographic images. It dominated photographic printing until about the early 1900s.
I learned this process during a residency program at the Maze Collective Studio. A co-participant whose primary medium is cyanotype taught me how to make those as well. In an overwhelmingly digitised space of image making and consumption, it was such a richly tactile and immersive experience of making prints with my hands.
